Approach
I have a very interactive style of engaging with clients to understand their current experience. My primary tool is a relationship where you feel understood and supported.
While my general theoretical perspective is broadly psychodynamic and relational, I often suggest a range of strategies to help you overcome difficulties and symptoms. These include stress management techniques, behavioral and cognitive behavioral methods, EMDR, and other trauma treatment techniques. If together we think that medication could be useful I will refer you to a physician to discuss that option. I am actively present and focused on creating a safe and accepting place to explore new perspectives and try new solutions.
Work Experience
I am a licensed psychologist and have been in private practice in Newton Highlands, MA for over 20 years. My experience includes seeing patients with a whole range of severity of symptoms. This includes people who come in for a very brief piece of focused work as well as those looking to address broader issues. Previous work settings include McLean Hospital, at the Trauma and Dissociative Disorders Program as well as the outpatient clinic, and Charles River Hospital in the Women’s Treatment Program.
